Don't let anybody fool you. The diffuser is in the business end of the system so be prepared for SMELL for a few minutes while you change the unit. This process will save you time and headaches down the road if you mess up the aerator by letting the diffuser clog up. For less than $15 a year you can eliminate most of your system issues so put a clothespin on your nose, get your heavy duty rubber gloves and get on with it. Once a year won't hurt you and will save you big $$'s.

OK. Nothing sexy about a septic diffuser. This is the original type diffuser that came with my Clearstream unit. It works just fine. Let's talk price. I had a hard time finding this on the Internet. The only other place besides the Clearstream site was EBay. They were $65 on EBay; I about choked! So obviously, the Clearstream price was a little more reasonable. Git yersef some!!
